A refreshing twist to the classic playing card deck celebrating the art of the cocktail and modern mixology.
Cocktail Hour is a custom,
illustrated deck of playing cards from illustrator Sarah Ferone, that celebrates the craft of the cocktail –
offering a playful and modern twist to the classic deck through original art.
With my signature illustration style, I reimagined each playing card with bold brushwork and graphic lines.
The face cards feature unique characters crafting a variety of drinks, the number cards incorporate subtle
hand-painted textures and pips that vary slightly in size for added charm, and the cards are packaged in an artful tuck box to showcase the deck.
As a professional illustrator and designer, I’ve been enchanted with playing cards for a long time.
My love of playing cards began in childhood during family games of rummy, and has continued to grow while developing my own deck,
as I learn about their history and listen to family and friends’ memories of cards games. They have a universal magic that transcends different stories and cultures.
Launched on Kickstarter, this delightful playing card deck was successfully funded in June 2016, and now available.

Just got my cards in the mail...love them! Beautiful details and design
Received these cards so quickly! They are for my son-in-law for Christmas, so I can't open the box but I really want to. Lovely product which I happened to see on the blog Brown Paper Bag. Thank you!
Received in Singapore, the decks are lovely. Thanks, Sarah! Now wishing I had picked the art prints as well...
Fantastic job, great packaging, all 100%! Amazing job, especially for a first-time creator - I will gladly back and recommend any future projects! Great work!
